What better way to begin a new family blog than with "Engagement Photo Draft 2007". After months of training, pro combines, and 3-cone drills-- the 'elite eight' photos (out of at least 4,000) remain. Each participant, (i.e. you the viewer), may submit 1 [one] vote for your favorite photo.
Note that photos 1-6 have been scanned in using BYU's ten year old scanners. The quality is a bit lacking; you will just have to trust us that the original quality is far superior to these images.
I wanted the voting to be done through the web page by a simple click, but my html code is rusty. So, make your final decision FIRST. Then, click on the comments tab at the end of this blog and post your final selection. I want my results to be independent, so don't look at others posts until you have made a decision!
The votes will be tallied at midnight on Wednesday, February 28; barring a 'judges indecision' the champion will be announced on Thursday at noon. At 12:05 pm Commissioner Stern will escort the winner to the media room where they will be available for questioning. In the event of an indecision, the final two photos will be reposted on this blog for further analysis.

So I don't know if I am one of the "select friends" because I am just a wife but I would like to vote! I have spent time, probably too much time, trying to decide between 1 and 8. I really love them both. Lauren, you look amazing in each picture. And Drew, you don't look bad either. But I am going to go with 8 because I like your expressions and the color photo shows off your eyes. Good luck with all the plans, such an exciting time!!

Number one exudes an aura of self confidence, yet at the same moment it displays a delicious taste of self mastery. It is such an excellent photo that it necessitated the creation of a new word to describe it's harmoniuos characteristics, and I will do that right now...scrumtrelescent. This photo is scrumtrelescent.
I LOVE #7 (the one standing up with the red necklace-Lauren-and the navy shirt-Andrew). You both look HOT!! And it is the closest to BYU colors...!!
I really hope I am doing this right because I definately cannot read all this mumbo jumbo. My favorites are #1 and #7
I vote for #8, although it was a tough decision. I also like #6 (because it looks a little like Lauren is standing under a miniature emergency shower head) and #2 (because its crookedness reminds me of Drew's senior science project in which he took video sideways).

I love the pictures, your photographer did a great job. Who was the photographer. Anyway, at first I was going to go to the black and white one, but when I saw number #7 I loved it. You both look really good and relaxed, it's very classy and the background is simple and clean. I love Laurens hair in it too. Your clothes look great, it's just a really nice picture. Okay, thats probably enough from me. You two look really good together!!!

All right all right, this is the WORST BRACKET EVER!!! You can't crown a champion after the first day of March Madness. 1 beats 8, 6 beats 3, 7 beats 2, 4 beats 5. Then 1 beats 6, 7 beats 4 and 7 wins it all. I like 7 the best. It shows your true characters and you look both look great. Clearly the best in the bunch, nothing compares.

7, It is the only one you don't look nervous or evil. But marika said she could fix you in any of them, Lauren looks good in all of them.
You got to go with number 2. It is the most chill.
8 then 1. Although, if you want to scare all of Lauren's friends, choose #2 (the "I'm really a psychotic killer and Lauren is my next victim" picture) I see some votes for 7, especially from the people you might trust the most for this--I must say I liked it a lot but Andrew's face looks washed out. Don't know if that was the scanner or not. Maybe you should wear some eyeliner next time.

Well I think that I like #1,2, and 4...perhaps #7...but i may actually prefer the mysterious #9. however, i would like to point out the obvious bias in favor of the pictures NOT scanned...

I like #2, because nobody else does. "#2 was down, real down. It looked like the voters were going to pass him by again and he thought of quitting. But he kept going and not three weeks later he was asked to be on the invitations for the first time. He's climbed ever since."
Moms and dads only see gorgeous people in photos---so I will go after Nathan's suggestions and list them in order---but no winner-7, 1, 8 I do not like the tipsy one.

Like the couple, no loosers, winners all. But like the couple, one must be given the edge. So, for my money 8 wins. It has a quiet confidence that say this couple is totally "with it". They have been there and like it. No one need show them the way, they are the way. They stand together, partners, but each with his own place and unique inner strength.
