I felt the annual winter crazies setting in last night. Even though we had played in the snow most of the morning, everyone still felt stir-crazy, cranky, lazy, like eating every carb in the house, etc. I think it might be because the Dad around here has had to work the hours of a cross-country truck driver. We are all so much happier when he walks through the door (and doesn't fall asleep 2 seconds later). It might also be because the sun has not been seen in what feels like ages. That really gets on my nerves after a while. So last night I decided to take control of the sun.

The paint color is "Full Sun". Appropriate I think. (I actually will probably go back to white eventually, but seeing this yellow actually does make me feel better. I'm so weird like that).
Snow is pretty. And fun (I actually kind of like shoveling). But I'm ready for Spring. Please.

what a fun idea, painting just the door, I mean. Because it seems like less work and less commitment...and I think that sunny yellow is quite cheerful!
yeah, I'm ready for spring too. :)
I really like the yellow door. It really brightens up the space. I really got tired of the rain when we living in New Zealand. It's a beautiful, green place but that's because it rains so much. I know it didn't rain all the time but it seemed like it rained from May 2003 to June 2004 with just a few days inbetween when it didn't. I could never live there all the time because I am really affected by dark and rainy days. Just want to go back to bed and sleep all the time. With all the snow we are having this year, maybe I should paint something yellow too or make a trip to San Jose, Calif.(Love,Love the weather there!)
I forgot to tell you, when you left, Cam insisted that I go downstairs----but when we got to the door he just stopped---threw open his arms and said, "seeeeeee, oh, WOW" Then both boys went into a long description of how you did it while they were asleep. They were very proud and obviously love the door.
