Please help settle a friendly dispute between Andrew and I.
If you would be okay if you never watched the original Star Wars trilogy ever again, please comment. Not that you don't appreciate the place it holds in history...but you just don't think that you would want to spend a Friday night watching it again. In fact, if you asked your husband/wife to rent a romantic movie and they came back with Star Wars...you might think they are a little crazy.
Just asking. Is there anyone out there...in the world...because Andrew thinks I'm the only one.
Thanks.
p.s. If you don't even care that it was ever made, that's a bonus. But not necessary.

Hey guys! I just found your blog through Lori's. I for one have never seen any of the Star Wars movies all the way through and I have no desire whatsoever! Mark thinks I'm crazy! It looks like you guys are doing well and your little boy is so dang cute!
i haven't seen the original movies. I dont really have a desire....although I do appreciate that they were big. so, you're not the only one....maybe our group is just more selective than Andrews view
I haven't seen one all the way through, and I don't feel that I'm missing out on anything!
Is it really considered a romantic comedy? I thought it would be a little more Sci-fi! I think that Jared and I both could live the rest of our lives with out seeing them. In fact, I don't even think that Jared has seen all or any of them.
Sorry, Lauren! I LOVE the original trilogy (the first one best of all). I would watch it any day-especially over the later 3. Still, it seems like you are ahead...Lauren 3 - Andrew 1.
I L-O-V-E Star Wars (mostly the original trilogy, the newer ones not so much). The Empire Strikes back is my personal favorite - it's just pure wholesome entertainment! But I have to admit that it doesn't fall into the Romantic Comedy in my book. So there you have it, one for Andrew & one for MoCann - bust out your light sabors & settle it once & for all!
Scrap 'em both and just watch Jake Heaps videos on Youtube! Jake Heaps at BYU in 2010 baby!! (I decided to go neutral because I disagree with the whole points thing, and that's all I've been watching tonight)
You guys make me laugh!! You're truly the best. All I can say is that I have gone my whole life without a desire to see them - but if Andrew THOUGHT that you would WANT to watch them again, maybe I need to reconsider? Or, maybe not!
We are praying for Andrew today!! They are going to do great. I am glad it is almost over!!!
I have no desire to see stars wars again. definitely historic, but no reason to see it again. i'm with you lo. -Amy
OK, I might sit down and watch the original trilogy once in a blue moon if the mood strikes (I do love watching some young Harrison Ford), but it DEFINITELY does not qualify as a romantic way to spend a Friday night. Seeing as I'm one of the more guy-flick/sci-fi friendly girls I know, that ought to mean something.
Although, to be fair, I have a feeling the vast majority of guys have Princess Lea (especially gold bikini)-centered fantasies, so I could maybe see how Andrew could get there.
I watched one, and I was not into it at all. I will never watch any of them again. I Don't feel like I am missing anything!
Terrbile romantic comedy!
Try again Andrew =)
Sorry, Lauren, usually I would side with out of female loyalty, but this time I have to go with Andrew. I LOVE the original trilogy! I actually asked for it for my birthday the first year Eric and I were married. I wouldn't mind watching Return of the Jedi once a month, though we don't do it.
That said, I have to agree that if the specific instruction was for "romantic comedy" Andrew isn't really on the money. Adventure, sci-fi, drama, even some romance and definitely some comedy, but when I think of romantic comedy, I don't know, I picture You've Got Mail or Dan in Real Life. I guess the problem is, those can also be called "chick flicks" which may or may not be enticing to a hubby who just finished grilling himself over hot Boards/coals for the past month. I guess he deserves a break.
I don't think anyone really likes Star Wars do they? No one wanted to be the first to admit it. Thanks, now we are all free.
I have seen them and would NOT classify them as romantic movies. And I would not voluntarily watch them on my own ever again - but if I'm in a group of people like family or close friends then I might consider it.
I didn't think I really liked them. Then the boys started watching them and it turns out that they aren't so bad. You just wait until Luke loves them and you might just reconsider. You are a boy mom after all.
I'm so jaded by Lucas ruining the franchise with the prequels that I really am no longer excited about the original trilogy. Will I show it to my son when he's old enough? Of course. But I like to think of Lord of the Rings as my generation's Star Wars. It's better anyway.
