Tubes

(Before)

We just got back from Luke's little surgery this morning (he had tubes put in). He's doing well and will probably be sleeping all morning. Oh, and did the surgeon even come out afterwards to tell us how it went? No, we had to go to a room and call him on the phone! Is that normal?? (Andrew says no) That puts my total interaction time with this doc up to about a minute. Hope he enjoys his check.

Hope he feels all better soon! Sorry for your weird doctor experience; it's definitely not normal; Amanda's surgeon came out to talk to us after both sets of tubes. Good news, though: tubes can make a HUGE difference; Amanda couldn't talk much before she got hers (ears too stuffy to pick up much speech), but you'd never know it now.

That is so weird. When Macy had them put in, the doctor totally came in once she was awake and talked to us for about 15 minutes, letting us ask questions and at least acted like he wanted to make sure she was okay. Your doctor is lame. Glad he's okay! Aren't they so cute in their hospital robes?! I hope I never see Macy in one again though!

I love how there's two pacifiers ready in the picture - and I'm sure you had lots of other goodies for him! And I'm glad it went well - besides the frustrating doctor part. Keep us posted on how Luke does!

Why did he have to have tubes put in? Will they ever take them out?

So glad he's doing well. Good experience for Andrew-being on the other side and learning what the patient and family want from the doctor.
Steve's surgeon was similar. We had to chase him down for information and then he was brief and outta there! I've heard most surgeons aren't great with people. The doctors who are usually go into a practice where their patients are awake and alert!!
