College Flashbacks
One of my college roommates came to visit last month. We get really excited around here when visitors stop by from out of town. Not many people are just passing through Ohio. One day I would love to live somewhere where people want to come and visit all the time. Ann Arbor? Anyone?
I have a special place in my heart for my college friends. I feel like I can be my truly dorky self around them while I always try to maintain some degree of sophistication around my post-college friends (okay, no one would ever describe me as sophisticated but you know what I mean). Even though I can hardly string two sentences together when my children are present, we had a great time and I was quickly reminded of all the things I loved about this old roommate of mine. She has such an easy laugh and kind heart. We chatted about all the crazy things she would say in her sleep (she would actually sit up and say them so I always thought she was awake and coherent), and about the time I played an April Fools Day joke on her that made her burst into tears (oops! I think she has finally forgiven me). There was so much growing up I did with this friend by my side, willing to stay up late and talk about boys or have an impromptu dance party. Crazy to think that we were just assigned to live together in the dorms. I lucked out!
Thanks for the visit Debs! Anyone else want to come?

Thanks Lauren for being so patient with our car-weary family. I had a lot of fun visiting with you and hope we weren't too much trouble. The boys are even terrorizing your pumpkins in the background of the picture! It had really been too long since I'd seen you. Hope it won't be so long until the next time. Love, your crazy ex-roomie, Debbie.
