"Trick-or-Treat Not Working"

This is what Luke would say if he knocked on a door and no one answered. It was so cute.

I was a little nervous about Halloween this year because this is the first year that Luke won't happily wear whatever I put on him. Yet, he doesn't totally understand the concept of dressing-up in a costume either. I knew there was a good chance that Halloween was going to end up in some kind of dress-up stand-off (wow, so many hyphens this post).

Luckily, I knew that Luke loves wearing plastic construction hats so I went to the party store and bought 3 different hats for him to choose from ($2.00 each). He instantly gravitated to the fireman hat and I just threw together the rest with what I had. He didn't truly look like a fireman but the amount of energy I had after a week of night float (Andrew working all night long) I felt okay with the results. I added the freckles because drawing on Luke's face has become one of my favorite parts of Halloween. Freckles just seem to complete the whole outfit.

 I tried to take a picture of Cam in the same swing I took a picture of Luke in when he was just a year old. It didn't quite turn out exactly how I wanted because it started raining and we had about 10 seconds to take the perfect picture. But it is still fun to see the similarities.

The matted down curly hair look just kills me! Love it.

It gets me a little teary-eyed when I think that we won't be trick-or-treating with these cute neighborhood kids next year. I have loved watching them grow up.
