These two amazing people (my sister, Carol, and her husband Steve) have been like second parents to me. Carol was my Beehive teacher when I turned 12 and helped nurture a growing testimony. She taught me about mothering small children (something I never got to see my mother do) and from her example I learned that there is no excuse for not having a positive and optimistic attitude [the double negative makes that a confusing sentence, but that still seems to capture the meaning most effectively].
From Steve I learned how to drive (so blame him if you think I'm a crazy driver), how to be a football fan (this became very important down the road), and how to be completely generous with those around you regardless of your own circumstances.
They have definitely made an impact on my life and I wouldn't be where I am without them.
