Canoe Date

Andrew and I have sort of become lazy daters. Maybe it was the craziness of residency or having two kids, but somewhere along the way we just forgot about planning dates. Most nights we don't even know where we are going when we get in the car (which is how we ended up seeing "The Tree of Life" --kind of weird if you didn't know anything about it beforehand :)). We are so lucky that Andrew's parents come down about twice a month to watch the kids for us. Without them we would probably count 'watching Scrubs on youtube' as a special date.

Last week I was really feeling the itch to do something cool and surprise Andrew. Probably because Fall is the best season in Ohio and one of the only seasons that you can be outside comfortably. I did some research and found a little place about 30 minutes south where we could rent a canoe and take it down the river. It was much more affordable then I thought it would be and SO much fun. We will definitely be doing this again sometime. I really should surprise Andrew more often.

I did end up taking this life jacket off since the water was hardly moving and about 2 feet deep. Our camera ran out of batteries so I only got a few pictures.

If you live in Ohio, you must try out Trapper John's Canoe Livery (they have kayaks and tubes too!). They are really laid back and being on the water is so relaxing!

Awesome! That looks way fun. So, I'm interested to see Tree of Life because it's a Terrence Malick film - did you like it?
